"If you don't know your family history, you are a leaf that doesn't know it's part
of a tree."
-Michael Crichton
Turning your story into a book requires many steps and can take many forms. Lifetime Legacies can help you identify the best process and final product to fit your budget and needs.
The process, as outlined below, can start and/or stop at most any point.
Scope
By phone or in person, we outline the scope of your project plus anticipated services and fees.
Interview
Tell your story in a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Insightful questions nudge you along.
Transcribe
The interview is transcribed into Q and A form. Spellings and facts are checked for accuracy.
Rewrite
The transcript is rewritten as a narrative that maintains the storyteller's voice and personality.
Edit and Embelish
You can add, delete, embelish, and enjoy the first draft to your heart's content. A second draft will reflect your changes. A third draft will (hopefully) complete the narrative.
Design
Your book takes shape when graphics are added to the narrative. A graphic can be pictures, letters, certificates, or anything that can be scanned on a computer or legally downloaded from the Internet.
Approve
Now it's all together in book form, ready for your final approval and printing.
Print
The fuss and muss are out of your hands. Just sit back and wait for delivery.
Treasure
Done. Once a story, now a book. The legacy of a lifetime.
